Rovers Set To Beat A Host Of Teams To Championship Striker.

Mowbray said he was hoping to bring in a striker before they left for Austria. We now have some details on who he may be.

Dominic Samuel is a 23-year-old striker from Reading FC, he has been with Reading since 2012 when he was promoted from the youth squad. He has only managed 7 appearances for the Reading first team and has spent every season out on loan, one of those seasons was with Mowbray at Coventry where he scored 6 goals in 13 games.

He is 6ft-2 and is quick, which is just what Rovers need. It would appear that Reading has finally given up on Samuel and are willing to offload him for £500K. It has been suggested that Rovers are willing to pay his high wages and even better what Ipswich and Barnsley are willing to pay him.

This would be a much-needed addition to the squad and TM seems to be favouring players he has had during his time at Coventry. This should be done in the next few hours at the very latest tomorrow.

  1. If he is so good why are Reading letting him go? And high wages, he had better be good for 30+ goals. TM says he needs 70 goals this season.

    1. He is still to prove himself. But the fact that Reading have given him a good wage and kept hold of him for so many years, without him breaking into the team. I think that must mean he has some potential.
