According to The72 and Plymouth Herald Rovers are looking at bringing in Stephy Mavididi on loan from Arsenal. It looks like they are going to face competition from Championship clubs Bolton and Millwall and also League One rivals Wigan.
Mowbray has made his front line, top priority for the moment. We have expecting a permanent signing soon, but he has said he wants to top up the squad with Premier League loans. Mavididi could be the first one if Mowbray can fight of Championship opposition once again.
Mavididi spent the 2nd half of last season on loan to Charlton Athletic in League One. He only managed 5 games before being stretchered off with a hamstring injury, during a game against Bury. This would end his season and he returned to Arsenal devastated, as was Karl Robinson the Charlton Manager. Robinson said he had made a bright start to life at the Valley, telling Standard Sport mere days before the injury that he expected the 18-year-old to thrive in the Premier League.
While he didn’t get very many games under his belt, Robinson was full of praise for the 19 year old Striker. So it would appear that Mavididi has the talent, he just needs a stage to perform.
